What is Pond Sprint?
Pond Sprint is a 13(ish)-mile adventure race, covering an Adirondack Mountain course around Long Pond, in Willsboro, NY. The course follows portions of the famed Patch Sprint route, climbing Sugarloaf and Rattlesnake mountains. The race starts and ends at Pok-O-MacCready Camps.

Who can race POND SPRINT?
The race was created to promote competition, social recreation, charitable giving, environmental appreciation, and to provide an opportunity for racers who were shut out of the Patch Sprint to explore this beautiful course.
Any runner or climber (newcomers and Patch veterans) in good physical condition are welcome to race the half-marathon or the 5-Miler. Hikers are welcome too, on their create-your-own Pond Hike course!

How much does the race cost?
Entry fee will be $50 for the Pond Sprint; $40 for the Pond 5-Miler; $25 for the Pond Hike; no charge for volunteers. (If you are paying onsite on race day, the fee bumps up $10 more for each division. All participants will be provided on-course aid supplies, and a post race picnic. The first 40 Pond Sprint participants will receive an event cap; additional caps may be available for sale.
Prizes will be awarded to top finishers. The men's and women's full-course winners will also receive free entry into the following year's Patch Sprint.

The mission of Adirondack Scholarship Foundation is to provide financial aid to children attending summer camp; proceeds from POND SPRINT will be specifically earmarked towards sending a local child (Essex or Clinton County, New York) to camp.

Long Pond Conservancy is a program of Champlain Area Trails, with a mission “to preserve the wild nature of Long Pond and its watershed by protecting the clean water and forest that surround it. Working with landowners, we seek to balance use with the conservation of scenic vistas, natural areas, and forest and lake ecologies.”
Your entire fee, less goods received and event services (amount to be determined) will be an evenly split donation to the Adirondack Scholarship Foundation and the Long Pond Conservancy program, for which you will be issued a tax-deductible receipt.

What is the race course?
The race will begin at the Pok-O-MacCready conference center and traverse around Long Pond, climbing Sugarloaf and Rattlesnake mountains, in that order. The course is mainly on trails, with some stretches of dirt roads and quiet country roads. Two times, the course will cross NY Route 22.
The course is consistently rolling terrain, with the climbs short, but steep.
The full course is around 13 miles.
The Pond 5-Miler is a shorter course for runners, covering the last portion of the Pond Sprint.

What other services are provided?
There will be one aid station along the course, although participants are strongly urged to carry their own food, beverage and first aid gear.
Following the race, there will be post-race awards picnic with food and drinks.
